Iowa Lobby Day at the State Capital in Des Moines provided a wonderful opportunity to introduce AMAC to many Iowa legislators and deliver a great AMAC Action THANK YOU for their work in passing significant election integrity reform legislation that was signed into law by Gov. Kim Reynolds on March 8, 2021.
The event was the brainchild AMAC Action IA-03 Delegate Jim DeKruif and was successful due to the collaboration with AMAC Action IA-03 Chapter Leader Ken Smith, IA-03 Delegates Steve Bisenius, and IA-01 Delegate Marlin Cayton. AMAC Action Regional Representative John Whelan also attended and said many AMAC members, including those from as far away as Cedar Rapids, a 2.5-hour drive, made the trip to the Statehouse.
AMAC Call to Action:
Invitations to Get Involved were sent to AMAC members in Arizona, Texas, Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania asking them to become a part of AMAC Action advocacy. So far, a total of 169 applications have been received from AMAC members expressing their interest to get involved!
H.R. 1 / S. 1 Opposition Campaign – We asked AMAC member around the country to contact their Senator to urge them to vote NO on H.R. 1 / S. 1. Democrats in the House of Representatives have already passed the deceptively named For the People Act. This legislation is a partisan, federal takeover of the election process, weakens the security of future elections and is an attack on the First Amendment! So far over 149,400 emails have been sent by AMAC members to their Senators!
