The Honorable Bill Posey
Florida 8th Congressional District
2150 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515

Dear Congressman Posey,

On behalf of the over 2.3 million members of AMAC – Association of Mature American Citizens, including over 10,200 who reside in FL-08, we are pleased to support your legislation, H.R. 1070, the “Election Audit Transparency Act,” a bill to prohibit States from using proprietary voting system hardware or software in the administration of an election for Federal office which prevents the system from meeting the voluntary voting system guidelines for interoperability and auditability issued by the Election Assistance Commission.

We applaud your introduction of this measure – and that will clearly help to restore voter confidence at the polls. Following the recent national election, millions of Americans have become very concerned over the integrity of voting machines and the attendant software that produced incorrect tabulations. Whether or not these results were simply faulty technology or intentionally designed and manipulated to occur, all American voters should be able to be confident in the integrity of, and accuracy in, the counting of their respective vote. H.R. 1070 is a very important step toward this end.

I am pleased to offer our organization’s full support for enactment of this important and needed legislation.
Sincerely,

Bob Carlstrom
President,
AMAC Action

I have been a poll worker and later a poll officer in several states over the last 20 years. Have seen no discrepancies in vote reports. Only problems were with campaign marchers outside insisting to use bathrooms inside poll locations which is a NONO !
