AMAC Exclusive – By Shane Harris

As violent crime continues to devastate many major American cities and even spread into the suburbs, the Biden administration is returning to a familiar Democratic scapegoat to escape blame for the tragic consequences of the progressive left’s failed criminal justice “reforms” and support for the Defund the Police movement. Who are they saying is to blame? Well, gun owners, of course.

At a Rose Garden event on Monday, President Biden announced Steve Dettelbach, a former U.S. Attorney from Ohio, as his new nominee to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) as well as new restrictions on so-called “ghost guns.” Both moves were part of a coordinated effort by the White House this week to appear to be doing something about the wave of violent crime sweeping the nation, which Americans now rank as their number three concern, just behind the economy and inflation.

But as Republican lawmakers and many conservatives have argued, the Biden administration’s anti-Second Amendment crusade has little hope of doing anything to curb violent crime, and these latest measures appear to be nothing more than a tactic to placate radical gun control advocates after Biden promised “significant reform” to gun laws throughout his 2020 campaign.

Although other items on Biden’s progressive agenda have gotten most of the attention in recent months, pro-Second Amendment groups have warned that the administration has silently been working to restrict gun rights since Biden took office. The nomination of David Chipman, Biden’s first choice to lead the ATF in April of 2021, had to be withdrawn amid bipartisan opposition to his prior work for far-left gun control groups and concerns from ATF officials that Chipman was a “rabid partisan” who holds hostile views toward the Second Amendment and gun owners.

The defeat of Chipman’s nomination was a major setback for Biden’s gun control agenda, but appears to not have deterred the White House from advancing another strong opponent of gun rights to fill the post. While he was running for Ohio Attorney General in 2018, Dettelbach expressed support for universal background checks and an outright ban on so-called “assault weapons,” two positions that immediately put him on the far left of gun control debates. Pro-gun groups have warned that Dettelbach is a “rinse and repeat” from Chipman, while Republican Senator Steve Daines of Montana called Dettelbach a “gun-grabbing radical that will put Montanans’ Second Amendment rights in jeopardy.”

Dettelbach’s nomination was also announced in coordination with the release of a new Justice Department rule on “ghost guns,” Democrats’ term for privately made firearms that are more difficult for the government to track. Progressives have long pushed for such action, even as Republicans warn that Democrat soft-on-crime policies, not guns, are the real threat to public safety. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) slammed the new rule as a “distraction from the reality that the explosion of crime in blue cities is directly attributable to those same cities implementing de-policing, installing progressive prosecutors, and enacting disastrous bail reform policies.”

The tragic shooting incident that unfolded in New York City earlier this week seems to support Grassley’s assertion. Because Frank James, the individual responsible for wounding 23 people with a handgun in a subway car, purchased the weapon legally, the official media narrative has been, as it is with nearly all mass shootings, that guns are too easy to obtain.

But this explanation misses a major part of the story. James was only able to buy a gun legally because of liberal “sentencing reform,” which allowed him to evade a felony conviction for one of the many violent crimes he had previously committed. The New York City subway shooting case thus appears to be one more example of left-wing criminal justice “reform” policies allowing dangerous criminals both to escape jail time and avoid laws designed specifically to keep people like James from acquiring guns.

If recent history is any indication, Democrats’ pursuit of more extreme gun control measures as an answer for crime is also unlikely to help them in November’s midterm elections, as the White House clearly hopes. While education issues took center stage in Virginia’s gubernatorial race last year, for example, gun owners in the state also turned out in force to oppose Terry McAuliffe’s promise to further restrict Second Amendment rights in the state. Moreover, studies suggest that more Blacks and Latinos – historically key Democratic voting blocs – are becoming gun owners than ever before.

But even with clear evidence that law-abiding Americans like their Second Amendment freedoms and have no intention of wavering, any change in direction from the Biden administration appears unlikely. Just as the Democratic Party remains beholden to a small minority of progressive activists on energy, economic, and social issues, fringe anti-gun groups appear to have the White House by the nose when it comes to gun policy.

At the same time, Democrats have backed themselves into a corner by declaring that policies like ending cash bail, outright refusing to prosecute some crimes, and “diverting” law enforcement funding are the only way to end alleged “systemic racism” in the criminal justice system. Thus, they are left with few, if any, options to address violent crime – and that’s something voters won’t forgive.

The government should not be keeping lists of gun owners. They can get published which sets that address up for a break in. Anyone who passes a background check should be able to concealed carry. Otherwise, why could they buy a gun? Maybe one safety class, but not something that constantly needs repeated and is designed to discourage concealed carry.

The Democrat left and its various attempts to usher in more gun control will only hurt the law-abiding citizens not the criminals. As a rule, it’s common knowledge that criminals steal their guns or buy them through the underground black market, through “straw” buyers, through unregulated gun shows, and even off the Internet. The exception is the random shooter who obtains his weapon of choice legally. This was the case with last week’s NYC subway gunman. It was also true of the 2007 Virginia Tech mass shooter who killed 33 people and himself. It was also true of Steven Paddock, the Las Vegas gunman who killed 58 people and wounded several hundred others, showering a crowd of concert fans with a hail of bullets from his hotel room window in 2017. These are individuals who slipped under the radar, who bought their guns legally, and whose mental pathology was never addressed, The system of background checks and “early detection” that is supposed to protect the public failed miserably. But what is the solution offered by radicals on the Democrat left? More gun control laws, not more focus on mental illness that can trigger gun violence. More rhetoric aimed at blaming everyone else but never their own misquided policies. More support for George Soros backed prosecutors who embrace so-called “reforms” that clearly don’t work.

Things need to change. Unless they do, our country is in for an even rougher time moving forward.

“To ban guns because criminals use them is to tell the law-abiding that their rights and liberties depend not on their own conduct, but on the conduct of the guilty and the lawless.”

Guns are not the reason for the increase in crime. BIDEN and the Corrupt Democrats are to blame. They have refused to prosecute the criminals and don’t require bail for those who are arrested. They have an open border policy and criminals are strolling into the USA at Avery high rate. We must remove the Corrupt Democrat Politicians from office and replace them with law abiding representation, and the. crime will decrease.

No surprise whatsoever. Fake subway shooting with actors portraying the “victims” and now “shootings” across the country and now Beijing Biden villainizing gun owners leading to calls from other Soros-paid scum to take away ALL guns so we can soon be like the current Australian Penal Colony. Folks, be prepared to give your answer to this.

I’m 81 years of age and got my first gun, a .22 caliber rifle, when I was 9 years old. I grew up in the south in a family of hunters. Over the years I have legally bought and sold a number of hand and long guns. None of my guns has ever shot anyone. Additionally as a long time gun owner I have never shot anyone nor have I ever thought about shooting anyone. Why do certain politicians want to punish me for 72 years of not shooting anyone?

I wonder if any of the people shooting up malls and other public venues have been able to show an up-to-date concealed carry permit. With the exception of the Subway Shooter, I’d feel safe in wagering that the guns used in drive-by shootings have been obtained illegally.

The fantasy of the left:
A conservative couple goes out to dinner. When they leave the bar they are confronted by gun violence. They are carjacked by an assault rifle, a revolver and a pistol. The pistol whips them severely, takes their keys, phones and money, then the guns drive off in the couple’s new pickup. So, the couple goes back into the bar, calls 911 and the dispatcher sends out a social worker to console them on their loss. The social worker explains to the couple that the guns probably had an abusive childhood and therefore probably deserve the new minivan more than a couple working class Republicans.

A political blame game for profit and power scheme. Create an issue, blame what you want to control. Crime’s high because of a lack of propriety throughout the
Justice System, not because weapons are available. Man has been killing long before we had guns.

Gun owners??? NO!. It’s “CRIMINALS” whose “tools of their trade” are guns… guns which are often “STOLEN” as a result of breaking & entering the homes of legal, licensed gun owners who hunt, collect or just have guns for self defense should it ever be necessary. These days, with prosecutors being SOFT ON CRIMINALS… and the Biden Administration failing the governmental duty to “protect” CITIZENS… while simultaneously allowing illegals & drug cartel criminals to cross our borders unfettered, We, the People MUST be prepared to take care of our families & ourselves.

There playbook is so sickening, always place the blame on everything else and lie , lie, lie, it’s so unbelievable that buy now our clueless citizens aren’t fully aware of how they pass the blame on everyone but themselves. However with this president we’re fully aware of this sham . He’s a grave danger to our country and might possibly be the most destructive and dangerous ENEMY this country has ever had to defeat. He’s a disaster and must be either tried for treason or even better have the entire democrat party eliminated fir the good and future of our great country.

The scapegoating of law-abiding gun owners and the NRA combined with the soft-on crime policies they support are the ONLY things democrats have to offer when it comes to gun crime. What actually needs to be done to solve this crisis are the things the democrats refuse to do. Those things are enforcing the laws already on the books and getting the criminals who perpetrate these crimes off our streets.

Deprive us of our right to bear arms, then use the military to control us. Since the President is the Commander in Chief, I’ve often wondered how many military personnel will follow that order when it is given.I’m a 69 year-old grandmother, native North Carolinian, live in a rural area with several (hopefully legal) Hispanic neighbors. Other than loud music when they have a celebration, we have all lived peacefully for decades. They all work on local farms, jobs that used to be performed by rural blacks–until they were moved into subsidized housing projects in the county seat and given the welfare ride. Drugs and prostitution are prevalent in the projects–so are gun-related crimes. This is a statement of fact having nothing to do with racism. My father taught me to have respect for everyone.Over a decade ago, one of my relatives farmed and had Hispanic workers who he had to provide housing for. A young Hispanic woman who acted as translator and advocate told my relative that the Mexican government distributes handouts that tell their citizens how to pronounce “social services, Medicaid, and Food Stamps” upon their arrival in the USA. When asked if he would ever attempt to attack America again, Osama bin Laden stated that he would not need to, that America would be brought down from south of its border… My family owns guns. My father taught me how to shoot his old National Guard rifle in my early teens. He taught me gun safety and respect for a weapon My white neighbor has built a hidden gun room in his house where he proudly displays his extensive gun/rifle and explosives collection. He’s a drunk with an explosive temper and has purchased all his weapons legally. Wonder which one of us is more likely to lose control…

We might be witnessing the best example of why citizens should be personally armed and trained to defend themselves, their homes and their communities as Parasite Putin presses his invasion on Ukraine with limited success and many failures as he attempts to regain conrol of what used to be the old Russian empire. NATO did not immediately stand up to him and his aggression, but some of the citizens immediately began acquiring weapons and training to defend themselves. And no, Judas Goat Joe is not a communist. Marxists use crime as a form of internal terrorism. As more crime happen the public call on the government to provide protection. The government will say they need more laws, even if there are enough laws on the books already. When they do write more law, the law only restricts the law abiding citizens. It is a never ending oppression of the people. More crime, more calls for help, more oppression! Never ending. Internal terrorism!

The puppet masters that control Biden say that gun owners are the cause of the violence, really? The majority guns used by criminals are obtained illegally not by firearms that lawful citizens own. Now that the socialists have opened the border more guns, in addition to drugs, trafficking young women, and violent criminals there is more guns coming into our country than all of the “ghost” guns or from southern states. I worked 31 years in law enforcement and every perp I arrested in possession of a gun the gun was stolen. If the socialists confiscate legally owned firearms from citizens only criminals and Police will be armed. Good luck with that.

Another democratic delusion. Increased crime is not due to more guns and gun owners. Increased crime is due to liberal judgments and failure to abide by the law. Crime is committed by criminals, NOT honest, law-abiding citizens.

Simple: 1. Use a gun to commit a crime, no bail and a minimum of 10 years in prison, with no opportunity for early release. 2. Wound someone with a gun, using it as a club, while committing a crime , no bail and a minimum of 20 years in prison, with no opportunity for early release. 3. Fire a gun in the commission of a crime, no bail and a minimum of 30 years in prison, with no opportunity for early release. 4. Firing a gun and wounding someone during the commission of a crime, no bail and a minimum of 40 years in prison, with no opportunity for early release. 5. Firing a gun and killing someone in the commission of a crime, no bail and a minimum of 50 years in prison, with no opportunity for early release. These mandatory sentences are automatic and can not be reduced or commuted by a jurist. These sentences stand with any additional charges that may be brought against criminal offenders as additions to these mandatory sentences for using a gun while committing a crime.Similar sentences should be written for people who use clubs, bats, sticks ect., to commit a crime. Similar sentences for strong-arm criminal acts as well.Stop blaming guns for criminal actions.

Simply put, Biden can go F* himself. He’s a communist, trying to destroy the independence America use to enjoy. I served my country in the military for over 20 years, and I’m now wondering why I spent those years compromising and enduring things? Was it just to see it all go to hell with Biden’s (and the left wing communists) agenda?? Very sad. Even sadder are those in America that voted for him.

If retribution for crime in this country was swift, sure, and commensurate, we would see a lot less of it. If judges would stop managing the revolving doors on jail cells, the streets would be a lot more peaceful. If it were up to me, all violent crimes should put the perps in jeopardy of receiving the death sentence.

Joke Biden is just that……… a JOKE. Whether it is Obama or someone else actually running the country, Biden has been an anti 2A criminal for many years. Common sense shows us that the places with the strictest gun control are the areas with the most gun violence. Biden reacts to a gang shooting with stolen handguns by crying about AR’s and AK’s and the sheep go along with it. Common sense is dead in American politics and we all need to be very aware in the upcoming midterm elections.
