AMAC Exclusive – By The Gallic

As a longtime educator, long enough to be working with the children of many of my former students, I know the impact a teacher can have on kids, particularly elementary school-aged kids.  So it is with dismay I see that there are some in our culture today who are attempting to inculcate young minds with dangerous and harmful ideologies.  Whether it’s Critical Race Theory, gender theory, or some other radical concept, the basic problem is clear: in addition to being at war with reality itself, these ideologies all seek to tear apart the family unit and deny parents their rightful place as the primary teachers of their children.

This latest crisis in education is hardly the first. Common Core, No Child Left Behind, Back to Basics, and many other ideas cooked up by bureaucrats and college professors musing in their ivory towers have come to trouble the nation and keep us awake at night. But while previous programs like these had an academic basis, today’s fight is over the very soul of the children being subjected to the teachings of this latest educational fad.

The primary goal of those pushing Critical Race Theory and like-minded ideologies is to relegate parents to the back seat and fill students’ heads with ideas that contravene the worldview of the parents.  They claim it is part of education; that we need to offer the students a different perspective, and that they must choose for themselves what to believe.

Yet we know that young children need to be reminded to brush their teeth, to treat others with kindness, to pack their lunch, to shower, to change undergarments.  Hopefully you get the picture – a child, by definition, lacks the maturity to make serious decisions, and parents are required to help them.  If a child lacks the ability to take care of basic needs, and needs to be told what to do, then they are clearly not equipped to make value judgements about what is being taught to them by adults whom their parents have taught them to respect and believe.

To ask a grammar school student to “decide” their gender or determine how much “privilege” they have is wrong and cruel.  Even if one were to clearly explain to the child what racism is, and what gender is, the capacity to understand the relevance of these concepts in the broader context of our modern world simply does not exist for young kids.  They are quite simply pre-rational; they are not irrational, but they struggle, for example, to understand the connection between homework and good grades.  They will do nearly anything for candy, with no understanding or care that it will rot their teeth.

What kids need instead are the basic building blocks of education, not a graduate level social construct theory. They need to learn how to read, write, do arithmetic, and be children.  By teaching children to simply respect everyone and treat each other as they want to be treated – the fundamental principles that used to be the basis of a good education – we lay the foundation for a better world.

The grammar school age children I have taught are much more interested in the worms squirming on the parking lot after a heavy rain than the color of the skin they have.  My own child, who goes to a very racially diverse small inner city Catholic school, describes her friends by their names: Cheryl, Alice, Veronica, Joe, John, Xiamora – not by their skin color. She doesn’t have black, brown and white friends, she just has friends.

Those who wish to push Critical Race Theory in schools would strip these children of their unique individual identities, instead teaching kids to view one another only according to race and imagined hierarchies of oppression.  Indeed, the prevailing belief among CRT advocates is that children as young as five years old have “anti-black bias.” Racism for them is not a learned trait, but rather a default setting that all children are guilty of possessing. It’s no wonder we see so much division in our society today – it’s all many children know.

Because children accept what they are told by adult authority figures, it is imperative that parents know exactly what their kids are being told in school.  They have the right and the duty to do so.  One benefit of COVID was that upwards of three times the number of mothers were home with their kids.  When classes were held on Zoom, these mothers were able to see what was going on in their kids’ classes, and in many cases were appalled by what they saw.

When a child comes into this world, they come without the ability to read, to write, to think rationally, and to care for themselves.  Their parents will be the first to provide them with care and nourishment and will introduce them to the world.  This inescapable reality universally applies throughout history and across cultures.  It’s about time that our education system respected this truth again and let parents once again take charge of teaching their kids what to believe.

The Gallic is the pen name of an educator with over 30 years of experience, who spends his time helping schools get better at teaching their students and parents happier at sending them to those schools.

Useless failed democrat and rino party politics have relegated EVERYTHING sacred and special in America to nothing of significance in their hopes to gain, maintain or enhance their self importance, wealth and greed!
We the People have allowed the swamp to infiltrate every aspect of of personal, professional and religious lives.
It’s time for Real Citizens to reclaim Our God Given Rights, put these politicians back in their places doing the bidding of us.
Who do they think they are to attempt to stop parents from controlling the education of THEIR OWN children??
The ARROGANCE and nerve of these people to even believes they are that important or have that kind of authority is SICKENING!
Throw them out!

HOME SCHOOL, HOME SCHOOL, HOME SCHOOL!! If parents are to busy to home school their children, those intent on brainwashing them to be obedient little “worker bees” will do it for them and have been doing it for years. If we lose this mid term election we will lose much more than most can imagine. Get your kids out of public (see indoctrination centers) schools. They are the ones who will hopefully carry the foundation of our Constitutional Republic and the freedoms we’ve taken for granted, into the future…one thing to consider, America is not mentioned in end times Biblical prophecy..Samuel Adams, one of our great Founders said it best:”When a nation forgets it’s God, tyrants soon forge it’s chains”. We are the only nation in the world with a foundation such as ours. No other nation has ever had the amazing documents we have, documents that are to protect our God given rights…they are under attack like never before…and the left will not stop at anything to continue the destruction.

I wish parents had been paying attention in the late 70s when these Communist indoctrinators were taking over the education system.
They’ve owned it for 5 complete decades now.
Time to fix this, and them.
Close the department of education.
Send it back to the states where it belongs.
Start arresting these vile thugs.
Get them out of our schools.
End this FILTH.

We are very disappointed in our current public school system. We will send all of our grandchildren to private schools or teach them at home. Our three grandchildren are tri-lingual and currently speak English, Spanish, and Arabic. The oldest is over 3 years of age while the two twins are nearly 2 years of age. All three languages are spoken in the family. We want our grandchildren to be able to be independent thinkers. We feel the public school system is broken.

Public school students are now more than two years behind grade level due to the Democrat lock downs, so why not focus on the basics of reading, math, history, and science and leave the social justice teaching to the parents.

TEACHERS? HOW ABOUT GUIDANCE COUNCILORS INSTEAD OF INCULCATE AGENTS OF TRASH AND USELESS GARBAGE?

My daughter has initiated a weekend food back pack program for the elementary school kiddos who would be hungry. She has bought and washed second hand clothes and warm jackets for students. Can we celebrate the dedicated majority of our teachers instead of focusing on scattered and unsubstantiated stories?? There are millions of good, kind and brilliant educators and staff in our schools. Enough with the hatred.

After reading this well written article all the way through, how could any sane person, i.e. parents not agree with it?
I question even a RED state such as NH, which is the state both my granddaughters go to public schools & through the GOP majority legislature, have banned ALL forms of CRT, Racial Diversity, Racial Equity, whatever one chooses to call it from all K-12 classrooms in the state, however, since these teachers do in fact belong to the NEA teachers unions, i.e. a 100% WOKE organization across this nation now, poses an obvious enough question: What sort of ” work around ” does the teacher’s union in NH employ with their respective members, i.e. the teachers themselves without actually threatening these teachers with LOSS of employment if they REFUSE to follow the NEA indoctrination processes? That is the MILLION DOLLAR question I pose to all the conservative states that supposedly don’t allow CRT from being taught in their schools…
Parents now more than ever, need to understand with absolute clarity what their school boards allow & what the teachers themselves are teaching our children at ALL grade levels moving forward…
If it comes to it & it already has IMHO, President Trump put his finger on it with no uncertainty, the ” MONEY should follow the child. ” Get that child out of ” public school ” & re-enroll them in a private school environment based on Christian conservative values…
That in of itself would be a major step in the right direction under our current educational system in place across our beautiful nation…
In closing, does anyone miss President Trump yet?

I agree with this article. We need to seriously focus on protecting the rights of parents to educate their own children.

Great Article- as parents take control of their child’s education we need to have the money follow the child for education. Tax credit for home school, money follows the child to which ever education school the parents choose. This brings back healthy competition and striving for excellence so parents will choose their school.

Well stated. My parents were always aware of what I was learning in school and often added their thought and experiences to my knowledge. I started noticing this trend to exclude parents when my grandkids were no longer being issued books in school. They often came home confused about a lesson and we had no reference to help them. Parents should be involved in all aspects of their children’s lives.

I was a public school teacher for 27 years. During that time I saw many changes and most of them were not good. I saw history being changed as the founding fathers were considered irrelevant and it was more important to teach about civil rights, war protest, women’s rights, etc.
Our school told me that less was more. We adopted block scheduling and when I brought up that we were losing 6 weeks of instruction time per year, I was told that less was more. I’m not sure what that meant.
We decided to homeschool our children after much prayer and never regretted it. I would receive anonymous hate mail in my school mailbox from fellow teachers, but we continued our path and our children turned out fine. It takes some sacrifices, but the results are well worth it.
Thanks

I believe this educator needs to become educated. We can’t count the parents who do NOT understand the math our children are being taught. History is NOT being taught as we learned it. Prejudices were almost gone until the obama/biden administration., and class mates interacted with get together, Holidays and Field Trips to Historical places that are now torn down or removed!!!
