Statements from Ranking Member Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO) and Ranking Member James Comer (R-KY) on President Biden revoking Executive Order 13771, Reducing Regulation and Controlling Regulatory Costs

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Committee on Small Business Ranking Member Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO) and House Committee on Oversight and Reform Ranking Member James Comer (R-KY) released the following statements on President Biden revoking Executive Order 13771, Reducing Regulation and Controlling Regulatory Costs.

“By revoking Executive Order 13771 on day one of his administration, President Biden is prioritizing his own bureaucratic regulatory agenda over the interests of American small businesses,” said Ranking Member Luetkemeyer. “Doing away with the ‘cut 2 for every 1 added’ model will only add more confusion and red tape. Small businesses have enough to worry about in this trying time, and the last thing they need is more overbearing big government intervention.”

“President Biden is signaling the start of a regulatory, red tape regime over American small businesses. President Trump’s regulatory reforms helped launch the greatest boom in jobs and economic growth in modern times,” said Ranking Member Comer. “Tossing them aside and decreeing more government intrusion will only raise new barriers to job creation for American workers and hurt small businesses struggling to recover from the pandemic. Unnecessary government regulations impose crushing burdens and do nothing but slow innovation and recovery. President Trump created the best economy in the world by limiting bureaucratic regulations and President Biden should seek to build on this success instead of diminishing it. Government does not know best, the American people do.”

Socialists are all about INCREASING the power and control of government to encompass everything. Total and absolute control of all aspects of the lives of those living under their regime is their goal. Every single socialist regime over the last 100 plus years around the world has followed this route once they gain power. Every single one! This is the same standard socialist playbook that the Democrats have been following for decades with their so-called “progressive” policies.

So it is perfectly natural that one of the first executive orders that his handlers had Senile Joe sign on Day One was to revoke President Trump’s executive order to reduce the expansion of the government’s reach regarding rules and regulations. This should have NOT come as a surprise to anyone here. Many, many more executive orders are on the way, as are tons of onerous legislation via Congress to make up for the lost time the Democrats experienced while President Trump was in office.

Elections have consequences. Even those “won” through means of manipulation and fraud. Adjust and adapt as best as you can, because the torrent of changes coming isn’t going to be slowing down. The Democrats have learned from their previous mistakes under Obama. They won’t be repeating those same mistakes again.

“The proof is in the pudding”, we used to say. Seems so, if you consider how the economy soared when President Trump lowered taxes and eased regulatory burdens. That’s when many of us witnessed a surge in new business construction, hiring at a pace that resulted in more jobs than people to fill them, and the highest increase in personal income in decades.

With just a few simple rollbacks in Trump’s achievements, the economy is bound to crumble. Add continuing Covid restrictions, and this could happen quite fast. What more proof do we need that Biden is a burden on prosperity?
