presidentPresident Trump’s America First Healthcare Plan builds on his efforts to put patients first and takes steps to repair the damage Obamacare has done to the system says AMAC Action, the advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens. “Where Obamacare focused on expanding the government’s role in the delivery of healthcare, the President’s plan empowers patients and puts them in control of their care” said AMAC Action President Bob Carlstrom.

Carlstrom continued, “Price transparency, a critical reform, will give patients the information they need to make informed decisions about their care before receiving it. Eliminating surprise medical billing also removes the threat of significant financial harm for unsuspecting patients after they receive treatment.”

Under President Trump’s plan and unlike Obamacare, all patients will have greater access to personalized care with more choices like expanded telehealth services and direct primary care. Patients will be able to customize the care that best fits their individual and family’s needs and not be subject to one-size-fits-all plans.

Carlstrom noted the President’s actions to prioritize the health of seniors saying, “President Trump has consistently acted to protect America’s seniors with his efforts to lower the price of prescription drugs. His healthcare plan includes new ways to pay Medicare which means better care for seniors because they will have the freedom to see the doctor of their choosing when they need to.”

As a Senior I applaud Mr. Trump! My “Sell By’ date has not expired and I need my health care.

My husband and I had good insurance for ourselves and our kids for decades through our jobs. I got injured and he retired and Obamacare came into being. We both lost our insurance and had to choose to buy food & pay electric or pay for health insurance for years. Not difficult to make that choice. The govt assisted payments were more than our total income. He’s now on medicare but they increased the age limits for the year I was born (obama’s admin), so even though I’m only 2 yrs younger than him, I won’t qualify til I’m 67, (3 more years) I’m thrilled at the prospect of obama’s BS being destroyed and anxious for Trump’s options to get in. I have not met a SINGLE person who was happy with obamacare. NOT ONE! The dems are spouting how soooo many people are terrified of losing their insurance they love so much…. NOT true. Only the ones who already qualified for free medicaid had the same benefits. The rest of us were just there to make the insurance companies rich! Obama screwed us all, over and over and over….

It’s about time for the change. When Obamacare was first introduced I didn’t and couldn’t afford health care so I was forced to pay the $95 (the mandated payment for the first year). The second year I was forced to pay the required $695, that took my whole income tax return refund, not fair since I only work part-time.

In 2018 I did have a Medicare Advantage plan and Medicare, I developed kidney stones in February of 2018, I called the doctor on my insurance card for an appointment. As of this date, September 27, 2020, I’m still waiting for a return call!!! The whole system needs to be overhauled. Doctors push drugs that some or most patients do not need. This happened to my grandmother back in the 80″s, the doctor over prescribed and she died from be over medicated. There needs to be a different payment/billing system for the way doctors treat patients

Trying to assist single, no dependents, 20 something granddaughter in obtaining health coverage. Works full-time, employer doesn’t offer health coverage. What should she do in order to get additional information? Time is coming up soon for decision.

Admittedly, I have not kept up and stayed as informed about government issues, ever since I first heard of ObamaI.This was long before he was truly in the running. Something in me actually made me know, without a doubt, that my/our country had sunk so low that a muslim was now even going to be president of the United States of America. I was so afraid I went to talk to the acting pastor of my church. As soon as I said,”…I am fearful because Obama is going to be elected…” At which point this young man exploded in laughter, “A muslim for President!” and slapped a pew next to him continuing to laugh. In horror, as I ‘knew’ this to be true I backed out of the church staring at him.
Well we know the rest. As to President Trump’s “America First Healthcare” plan as you have stated above, the very first paragraph where it states that Obama’s plan was for the government to have the most control over one’s health care, and the person, citizen, patient will have the least. If the plan truly means the patient, under ‘America First Healthcare,’ will have more to say – and here I would love to say much more to further explain how harmful it is not to address an illness or injury head-on, but I won’t – this is a plan that, done with the right intent, monitored and honest is the right way to go.
Thank you for this question as information to me. I know I should keep more informed, but the past twelve years has just been too depressing about and for this country.

I read the entire plan as posted on the government website. It makes sense. It does not encourage a further move to socialized medicine but it does promote choice and recognition of individual needs. I liked it a lot but wonder how the executive orders will be upheld by Congress. In any case, President Trump seems to be moving in the right direction.
