Rittenhouse Verdict Provides Hope for a Return to Sanity – if Democrats Will Take The Opportunity

AMAC Exclusive – By Daniel Roman

verdict

Much has been written already about the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse and his acquittal. The story dominated headlines over the weekend, and major news channels provided wall-to-wall coverage. But outside the media bubble, where some on the far left called for violent protest, and some on the right warned of it, the reaction has been more surprising for its anemia than its intensity. America has been through a lot the last two years, but the evidence is that the American people are tired of conflict, tired of culture war, and tired of strife. And despite media efforts to stir up trouble over this verdict as they did last summer, the American people are far more mature than their elites. The most powerful force in American politics, demonstrated in the elections three weeks ago, and again with the muted reaction to the verdict is a desire for normalcy. No more violence. No more racial “reckonings” of any kind. No more COVID restrictions.

This was evident in how white, wealthy Portland saw rioting after the verdict but Kenosha was quiet, as was almost every major African American neighborhood in the country. A few of the usual suspects popped up, such as 1619 Project Director Hannah Nikole-Jones, to declare that the verdict showed “In this country, you can even kill white people and get away with it if those white people are fighting for Black lives. This is the legacy of 1619.” But Jones is increasingly a figure of mockery, even among a surprising number of more moderate Democrats, and the last line of her tweet made the whole thing look like a low-effort move to sell copies of her underperforming book. MSNBC hosted a bizarre segment where Joy Reid discussed how the ruling meant open season on suburban white supporters of BLM. If you are a suburban white woman with a BLM sticker on your SUV, they are coming for you, she intoned, to the horrified look of one of her African American guests who must have believed she had taken a wrong turn and accidentally wandered onto the set of Saturday Night Live. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee made a bad taste effort to fundraise off the acquittal with a statement that was equal parts cringe and horrifying. “It is clear that our legal system has one set of rules for some Americans, and very different standards for others,” wrote Democrat Congressman Sean Patrick Mahoney, who as a Clinton staffer helped shepherd the Clinton crime bill through Congress.

Joe Biden’s comments while inappropriate for a sitting president were restrained to a press release. This perhaps showed an understanding that most Americans wanted to move on.

That was the lesson of the elections in Virginia and New Jersey. For all the focus on Critical Race Theory, Democrats misunderstood the parental backlash, seeing it as being in favor of a different sort of ideological education in schools, rather than as a backlash against using schools for ideological education.  The key thing that was driving it was that parents did not wish for their schools to be a battlefield. They did not wish for their children, whether white or black or Asian, to be told that society was a war of all against all and that after being divided by race, they should be told their friends of different backgrounds would be their natural enemies for life.

Democrats are still blind to this. Reporting indicates that they plan to go hard on CRT, by framing the education issue as a struggle between those who wish to “censor” presumably conservative parents, and those who wish to promote “racial justice” through CRT. Leaving aside the twisted framing, this promises to do exactly what the overwhelming majority of parents of all backgrounds do not want. Turn schools into a battlefield. The left is likely to have no more luck rallying the troops here than they had trying to incite violence following the Rittenhouse verdict.

There is also a COVID element to the return to normality. It is often forgotten, but never should be, that the riots of June 2020 took place after three months of lockdown. 300 million Americans with almost no exceptions obediently locked themselves into their homes, pulled their children out of school, and socially distanced to protect not just themselves, but everyone else. Whether you think it was necessary or not, it stands as probably the single most unifying and socially-conscious act Americans have undertaken in recent history, and among the most selfless.

Then came the riots. For millions of Americans who had been told we were all in this together and locked themselves inside, to see tens of thousands of young lefties pouring into the streets, drinking, smashing windows, setting cars on fire, without any concern for social distancing or even the law itself was infuriating. But what created a sense of mass betrayal was the actions of the media. The same media that had called for everyone to stay home, and which would later suggest those who did not wear masks were endangering others, not only did not condemn the rioters but praised them. The loss of faith was enormous, and the media and institutions failed to grasp it.

Ironically, Americans are people of faith and they always wish to have that faith restored. Just as the riots of last summer and the tragedies which triggered them and accompanied them drove that loss of faith, perhaps the Rittenhouse acquittal be the beginning of a kind of healing. The justice system worked. The facts came out. Despite the efforts of the media to turn the trial into a circus, and the complicity

Someone please fix this article. It repeats about 4/5 of the way through before finishing the thought that was interrupted.

The democrats would only let one thing: America become a Marxist/Communist nation.

This author is CLUELESS! The division, strife and violence in the USA has JUST BEGUN! This dolt would have you believe that the Dumbocrats want to ‘play nice’. Disunity is the GOAL of ALL Dumbocrats. Believing his crapola is what gets folks killed. Bugs Bunny said it best: ‘What a maroon’!

CRT is a theory. I have a theory that Americans are seeing through the smoke and mirrors and aren’t buying it. How can shifting the problem from one race to another heal anything. Yet, that’s exactly what the liberal left is trying to do. Socialism, Marxism, the democrat party are all smoke and mirrors that want us to believe things that aren’t really there. Have we had racial issues that need to be addressed, absolutely. We were doing quite well until the socialists took over. Think they will “unite America” over CRT? Think again. Racism is a condition of the heart and no political solution will “heal” anything.

“Return to sanity” and the word Democrats should never be in the same sentence.

In other related news stories former respected law enforcement officials are observing that the new trend of mustering flash mobs through social media for smash and grab looting of elite retail stores is expected to spread from California and Chicago to the rest of the country since it has been so successful for the perpetrators. Ironically this situation was similar to what Rittenhouse was responding to and his acquittal sets precedent to respond to this with force if police are not present. But Democrats dread personal self defense and hate firearms so much as these are the best means of that, and will never connect the dots.

The media and all the rest of the race hustlers-Biden pushed that Rittenhouse killed blacks. All the while Biden and Harris were cheering on BLM and Antifa to burn and destroy cities in the US!!!

I apologize in advance, I do not think for a second that the ” Democrats Will Take The Opportunity”to provide a “Hope for a Return to Sanity” The left is quite insane so we really can’t ask the insane to help us get back to insanity! They really and truly are not capable of it, besides they want every bit of this insanity and chaos!

I’m Shocked to see the words, “Return to Sanity” and “Democrats” used in the same sentence.

I have always been of the mind to be measured and that violence begets more violence so I am in agreement with Dr. Roman and his. thoughts that Americans are weary of strife and we need to look to a more positive and collective future. Negativity also breeds more negativity.

In most instances I would agree – but there is a time to use muscle. I’m thinking of Jesus chasing the money changers out of the temple. If I remember correctly, He didn’t take them gently by the arm and tell them how they were destroying His father house and please leave. No, he threw over the tables and strew the money on the floor, yelling at them they had made His father’s house a den of thieves.

Excellent points but you left out the flood of migrants across the border, virtually none of whom are inoculated and are rife with Covid.

Somehow there is one set of rules for us, the obedient mainstream Americans, and another set for those the Democrats value and protect

As we can see, the current administration will take every advantage of court verdicts to emphasize race as an issue.

Anti-White liberals and respectable conservatives that support massive third-world immigration and FORCED assimilation for EVERY White country and ONLY White countries say that they are anti-racist, but their policies will lead to a world with no White people i.e White Genocide.
Anti-racist is just a code word for anti-White.

Larkenson, I do feel for you. You seem to be upset that some may label you as “White”, and thus engage in activities that will harm or otherwise disadvantage you.

I am white, and I grew up on the border of Mexico. I was once not allowed on a little league baseball team because the coach wanted an “all Mexican” team.

My father a bit angered by this, decided to volunteer to coach little league, and form a team of all the “rejects” from the other teams. He didn’t know much about baseball at the time but he was really smart, he figured out the game quickly and taught us how to win.

We one second place that year amongst the teams in our area. We were named the “bears”, and loved the movie “The bad news Bears.”

A number of our team members (not me) were drafted into the “all stars”, and sent on to higher competitions. I recall they won second place in the state.

So, I do understand, being limited by my “skin color”. It is real, and I am “white”.

But I am also a “Christian”, and their is no recognition of “skin color” in our relationship with God. (You know the guy who created all things.)

So, just “love everyone as Christ commanded”, which includes living in peace with everyone, and you will be fine.

God is in charge of all of this anyway. You don’t really have anything to worry about.

I quote you: “(You know the guy who created all things.)”? Do you mean the one who knows all, has all power, and who loves all his human children, but nevertheless permits epidemics and atrocities to happen? That one? (I would not comment except that a popup window here asked for our comments. People are sheep in credulity and wolves in conformity.)

The only opportunity demon-crats are taking is to further bash the United States and further push their globalist, anti-America agenda. The mother of Tamir Rice, the little boy who was shot by Cleveland police after brandishing a replica handgun, Samaria Rice, has called for the “Overthrow of America” after the Rittenhouse verdict. These people do NOT want justice, they want their agenda furthered, and nothing less. There are these sub-cultures, these counter cultures operating in the United States, and they seek only to breakdown America. They seek only to undermine the United States Constitution and destroy white people. ANYONE who attempts to tell you anything different is blatantly lying to you.
The Rittenhouse verdict was just, reasonable and fair. These people couldn`t care less about justice.

Gregory, disparaging your enemies does not accomplish your goals. It may rally those who already agree with you (and are likewise “inflamed”), but it does not solve the underlying problems.

Everyone should strive to love their enemy, and to clearly show such love to them openly.

Why? Well, consider the economic cost of actions which further embitter your enemy against you.

Any action which accomplishes that is often met with an equal reaction, that further increases the divide between you and your enemy. This results in increasing the cost of eventually bridging the rift between you and them, to the eventual point of singular (or mutual) destruction.

So, unless you strive for the elimination of your enemy (their destruction), minimize the cost of eventual peace.

Yet understand, I am not saying surrender to your enemy. Of course, stand your ground and be firm in your convictions. But be gentle, polite, and persuasive in your actions. Do not give ground, but try to understand and win the hearts of those whom you oppose.

Good will always win, so be on the side of good.

the demoncrats have used race baiting, and violence to advance their agenda and will continue to do so to the destruction of their party.
the American people have started to see thru it and are rejecting the hateful democratic messaging in droves
if the party of hate continue to use their army of ANTIFA, and BLM to further their agenda they will cease to exist as a major party and will be regulated to the trash bin of history

Mark, I agree with you. “… democrats (I do not necessarily agree “demoncrats”), have used race baiting, and violence to advance their agenda ” … This is very provable. Welcome to politics.

Antifa, and BLM to some extent are extreme organizations whom exist likely due to the lack of progress towards such genuinely felt causes.

Understand that for some, (Granted, some are paid by the likes of Soros, or others) these causes are “truly felt” by those who perceive to suffer, or other wise have a grievance from social situations.

So, for some individuals, their grievances are real. Even if not, as is suggested that they are “downcast” by a “system”, such will resonate with those who may not search for a more complex example of their particular situation, (Like they could have benefited from more education.)

If you want to effect real positive change, you need to convince the center, not the left or the right of whatever policy you support.

The Democrats suffer from a brain disease that cannot be treated….they are like a cancer that needs to be cut out to save the patient, America. They WANT us divided and dependent on them so they can do away with our Constitutional rights and put them in charge forever under socialism/communism….because there is no difference between communism and socialism….one ENSLAVES you by FORCE, the other ENSLAVES you by VOTE….but the end result is EQUAL SUFFERING for everyone except the ones in charge….they will prosper while you will be eating out of dumpsters and eating your pets to stay alive….just look at Venzuela, a once prosperous nation until socialism/communism came on the scene.

The jury has spoken & I believe in our judicial system. But , I would not want to live in any city that had a bunch of teenagers patrolling the streets carrying auto rifles — as something will go wrong. I also issue strong warning to all: We have the right to peaceful protest, but any time that you go to one of these protests, things can go wrong & you can be shot or beat up — just cuz you are in the group.

Obviously, you are not aware of the destruction that was taking place in that city. Mr. Rittenhouse was the patriot citizen replacement for a police department that was prohibited from protecting the citizens or businesses by a democrat mayor. That city had exploded with anarchy from the left. Businesses destroyed by fire bombs and no one was safe. The left showed up armed and ready for a fight and attacked Mr. Rittenhouse. And Yes, he lawfully defended himself. And although we agree on the verdict, I want you to consider this.
If it weren’t for Teenagers in our history showing up in the streets armed with rifles to push back tyranny, You Would Still Be a British Subject!
